How does prejudice emerge? Prejudice emerges from fear because it is a natural instinct in all animals to think ahead when it comes to a situation that they are uncomfortable with. Fear is not knowing what the other person is or has done et cetera.
How do single stories contribute to the construction of prejudice? Situations where you are extremely uncomfortable can leave a mark in your head about the people who you think caused you those feelings. Kind of how first impressions last a lifetime.
How can this be confronted? I don’t think it can. I think talking about it may help soften the blow but I don’t know.
